Activism
Acting as the conscience and voice of many individuals within a society by addressing and challenging their nation on ethical and moral, human rights, animal rights, and environmental issues, to name a few.

Social Justice
Acknowledging an inequality or power structure that subordinates or privileges certain groups of people, then taking that knowledge to work collectively with communities toward a common goal to make changes in society that end inequity and increase rights for all people.

Education
The act of learning, growing, and understanding of cultures and humanity through active participation achieved through open dialogue and an open mind in the hopes of promoting harmony and awareness.

Empowerment
Having the drive to educate oneself and others in regards to social issues; then taking on the responsibility to implement these ideas in order to give voice to unrepresented and under-represented cultures.

Diversity
Diversity refers to all of the characteristics that make individuals different from each other: characteristics or factors such as personality, work style, religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, having a disability, socioeconomic level, educational attainment, and general work experience.

Are you a returning or new campus organization leader? Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to learn about: how to apply for funding; what to prepare over the summer; campus and diversity issues; and teambuilders to take back to your organization. You will also have the opportunity to meet the CCC professional and student staff, network with other campus leaders and meet UCI alumni who were once CCC leaders like you! This Leadership Day will be the final Director’s Breakfast. You must attend in order to reserve the CCC conference rooms for your organization meeting space for Fall 2008! CCC Room Reservations
To reserve a room at the CCC, download a form, fill it out, and turn it in to Sherwynn Umali (3rd floor of the CCC).

CCC Calendar
The Cross-Cultural Center is proud to present its Calendar of Events. Registered clubs and organizations are capable of adding their own events to our monthly Calendar of Events (only upon approval). In addition, our new Calendar system includes features that allows anyone to view events by day, week, month, flyer mode, and best of all, sort events by organization/club.
